Inktober Week 3 – Past The Mid Point!

I feel like week three has been a turning point and I can start to see dividend in the daily practice of creating an ink drawing a day for 31 days.

Here are my #inktober drawings from the third week of the challenge, they are to fit the #Inktober2017 prompt words but also are created to fit the briefs of the eshortcourse in Illustration I am studying with Bill Wright, tutor at Central St Martins.

‘Mysterious’ in Bic biro. ‘Mysterious’ #Inktober Day 15. I tried to capture elements that connote mystery and bring them together in a composition.
I really wrestled with how to illustrate #fat for #inktober2017. With Sweet fatty foods coming at her our girl is running away from fat by working out at the gym, as fat chases on.

Graceful #Inktober Day 17. I love the feeling of dance, the physical celebration of being. Ink and brush on an old roadmap of Scotland.
Wear Your Wings
Have a fabulous day! So nice to be using the ink bottle again. Here’s one of my #inktober responses to ‘graceful’.

A Good Walk – #inktober2017 – Day 18’s prompt word is ‘Filthy’ so I chose to create a series of illustrations as a reportage. The drawings follow…

Clouds Ink Drawing
‘Cloud’ – Keeping it simple for Day 19. I love clouds, do t always want to see them but they can be canvases for the most beautiful colours at this time of year.
‘Deep’ made me think of navel gazing introspection.
‘Furious’ was my hurry to collect my train tickets for London, with two minutes to spare.
Bell Pepper Allergy Illustration to show to restaurant staff when ordering.
Ashalak boots made in Ibiza, from Las Dalias market
Day 21 was ‘Trail’, which made me think of exploting the streets of London with my family. I love these Ashalak boots, they were made in Ibiza. I found them at Las Dalias market.

Into the home straight now – here are the prompt words to come.

Ski Fit Illustrations

After major knee injury my resolve ran thin after so many repetitive exercises. I needed new impetuous and accountability to push on with vigour.

As steps on my path back to skiing I created exercise boards to inspire me and illustrate the exercises that will help strengthen. I’m studying illustration at present with Bill Wright, from Central St Martins.

Now I really have no excuse… I’ll schedule it in my calendar to try to get to it regularly. Maybe stating my intention here to do this 5 times a week will  spur me on…

Here are some posts that relate to this…

#Inktober Week 2 – My Drawings

I’m enjoying Inktober – it’s challenging and is stretching me.
Here are the second week drawings for the prompt words.

Crooked – I struggled with this and it prompted lots of though of the representation of women as witches.
‘Screech’ made me think of a car
‘Screech’ Inktober Prompt Word
Gigantic made me think of the huge cumulus clouds as we arrived into the Mexican airspace on the Thomson Boeing Dreamliner
Run made me think of the atmospheric rain at Chichen Itza
‘Shattered’ explored illustrating the ‘glass ceiling’ to reach the boardroom
Day 13 – ‘Teeming’ With Life – my favourite drawing so far. #Inktober Day 13 – Teeming With Life – I wished to have a positive response to today’s prompt word so am representing life – influenced by Egypt, Mexico and a whale from New Zealand. I finished the artwork then an iguana appeared by the path and stayed still, enabling me to study his shape – almost like he wanted me to add him to my drawing… so I did.
Be Fierce To Face Your Fears – #inktober2017 Day 14 – for today’s prompt word ‘Fierce’.

My First #Inktober – Week One

It’s the first time I’ve taken on the #Inktober challenge to create 1 ink drawing a day for 31 days. Here are my first week creations…

Excited for a new challenge…
Day 1: Prompt Word ‘Swift’ made me think of skiing
Day 2: Prompt word ‘Divide’
After the darkness of the last I had to add some peace and colour
Day 3: Prompt word ‘Poison’ – guns are the modern day Poison that are screwing up society
After the gun I had to lighten my mood with a message of Peace
Day 4: I was relieved for the prompt word of ‘Underwater’ – more my usual territory
Day 5: The prompt word ‘Long’ made me think of my four legged friend, so I did three quick sketches
Day 6: Prompt word ‘Sword’ made me consider what my sword would be…
Game of Thtones inspired – Sword of Resilience for cutting through the crap life can throw at us.
Day 7: Prompt word ‘Shy’ made me think of coconuts. This blushing coconut reflects on his fall injury.
Materials used: Ink, Bic Biro, Inktense Pencils, Berol Broadmarker and Metallic Inks.

Update: Here you can see the drawings of Week 2, you can follow the challenge on my Facebook or Instagram
