Sewing into Art

I was keen to bring sewing into my art so having heat pressed two of my designs onto satin I explored different ways of stitching into them.

I also took one of the oil painting canvas test prints from my exhibition and tried to interpret the textures and features on a section of it.

These pieces are in part inspired by the stunning work of textile artist Lucy Leveson which I first saw in The Simple Things magazine.

Here are the results.
